We all encounter obstacles in life, it is how we handle our lives through the obstacles. Tim and Joe talk about life’s obstacles and how we get through them.

“It is time for us all to stand and cheer for the doer, the achiever, the one who recognizes the challenges and does something about it.” Those words came from a legend and a great coach; Vince Lombardi. 

The world is full of different kinds of people. We have the doers and achievers, the whiners and complainers, and we also have the ones who stand back and criticize both. Which one do you hang around? Each one can be like a magnet and attract like kind people. Who would be the one that will attract to you? 

So many people get caught up in the whining and complaining mode, especially at work. These are the people that can never be happy unless they are whining. Do you get caught doing the same things as them and bring the fiber and moral of the work place down to a dangerous level? I was listening to a friend the other day as he went on and on about how bad his place of work was and how if he was the manager, he would do this and do that. My response was; “seems like you are taking on two roles at work, the complainer and the critic. How do you get your own work done I asked?” The funny thing about our conversation is that he stopped whining instantly and changed the subject.

We have two real choices in life; to get up and do something about our situation or sit back and moan about it. The choice is yours. Here’s a little hint for you; when you become the doer and achiever, you have no time or desire to be the whiner, complainer or the critic. Don’t be the latter because others that are in control of their life are watching and listening and will never come to you for any future opportunity. 

Take an inventory of all the good at work and at home; it will change your perspective and it will help you see much better. Things are not that bad in life when we finally take control. Be wise, be strong and most of all; be a leader! You hold the key!

Today’s post was sparked by a good friend of mine. We were talking the other day about the way things were in his life. Things that used to be right are wrong and vice versa. The feeling of “out of control” was a norm now and he didn’t know how to get back to normal.

The one big thing I have learned over time is that we have no control over circumstances that we have no control over. Our first instinct is to try to control these outside events or people, only to feel battered even more. What is the only thing that we have control of in our lives you ask? Yes, you are right; we only have control over ourselves and our own thoughts. 

Access your life today and take control of it. You will find when you do, you will breathe better, you will think better and you will feel much better. That’s a fact! There is no better feeling than to be in charge of your own destiny. This way when bad things or events happen, you are more mentally prepared and ready to accept and move on. 

I came across someone else just recently that was having trouble coming up with $300.00. A life of “out of control” put her there. I told her that this was unfortunate and we needed to change her outcome so that she never had that problem again. We are on this new path together. We have that control in life, but we have to take the driver’s seat!

Forgive yourself and take control of your life today. You never know until you try. Life is full of many wondrous things just waiting for you. Stop letting the events that are out of your control take you away from living. I’m here to tell you that living is where the happiness is stored! Happy Wednesday my friends, make it a great day! On my way to church one Sunday, I heard one of my favorite rock songs on the radio; Stairway to Heaven. I have to say that it was the first time in all my years of going to church that it came on just before I got there. Coincidence? Maybe?

In the song are these two verses; “There’s a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure, Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings.” One thing that I have noticed in my 60 years is that life has many meanings and there are always signs on the wall to read each time you cross a new path. It is up to you to pay attention to those signs and most importantly, adjust your direction when needed. 
I have found over time that it is easy to get caught up in the euphoria of success, the good life and the hollowness of money. Sometimes these good things numb our senses, driving us away from the really important in life. Making your mark is a great thing in life, but you just need to know that everything else has its importance for a good and fulfilling life. 

Life holds true to the saying; How would we really know happiness if we didn’t experience sadness. I guess the point I am trying to make like the song did, is that putting meaning into your life should be your first priority. The signs that you eventually notice point you in that same direction. It’s not always about what we get in life as much as it is what we learn and what we give back to it that brings true meaning to it. 

I’m here to tell you that it’s up to you to recognize that you can be better and more capable of a lot more than you could imagine. The signs are there to maybe stop you of complaining, making excuses and not taking control. Only you can make the changes that you want. Yes, “there are two paths you can go by but in the long run, there’s still time to change the road you’re on.” 

“To be a rock and not to roll” has to be the epitome of hell on earth. You were meant to be more! Remember, “there’s no buuuuyying the Stairrrrway…… to Heaaaven! Make it a great day everyone!! See the signs and act!

We often go through our day with our mind focused on the small picture. We get all tangled up in that everyday grind of routine and unimportant activities. This not only saps our time but also saps our energy and creativity. Days, months and years go by like a sports car in the fast lane. You will understand that you are in this rut when you feel that you can’t get anything accomplished. Why do we feel this way? We feel this way because we are stuck in a trap that leads us to nowhere. 

Everyone in life needs a feeling of purpose and why we were put on this earth. A purpose in life is the energy that drives us forward. It gives us meaning and fuels the fire of creativity. Meaning puts the joy back in your heart. 
We were all put on this earth for a reason and it’s up to you to find it. I know, you sit there and think; “What could I be doing and giving to this world?” Those questions are a great place to start. Think and write down everything that comes out of your head after you absorb that question. It’s up to you to find your own joy and define it. 

I can hear you say that you have no control of this? Think again, you have all the control. When and how do you start, you ask? Get the word “I Don’t Have Time” out of your mind and just start. I love Jim Rohn’s take on this;

“If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much!” 

It’s your life and don’t let anyone or anything stop you!! Happy Monday everyone! Take control before someone else does!
