 Tim and Joe chat about having the patience to deal with what comes along in life in order to be successful.

Tim and Joe talk about the value of having self-worth and self-confidence. Tim explains how he works his self-confidence and how he is able to take his self-doubt and build it into confidence.

“It is time for us all to stand and cheer for the doer, the achiever, the one who recognizes the challenges and does something about it.” Those words came from a legend and a great coach; Vince Lombardi. 

The world is full of different kinds of people. We have the doers and achievers, the whiners and complainers, and we also have the ones who stand back and criticize both. Which one do you hang around? Each one can be like a magnet and attract like kind people. Who would be the one that will attract to you? 

So many people get caught up in the whining and complaining mode, especially at work. These are the people that can never be happy unless they are whining. Do you get caught doing the same things as them and bring the fiber and moral of the work place down to a dangerous level? I was listening to a friend the other day as he went on and on about how bad his place of work was and how if he was the manager, he would do this and do that. My response was; “seems like you are taking on two roles at work, the complainer and the critic. How do you get your own work done I asked?” The funny thing about our conversation is that he stopped whining instantly and changed the subject.

We have two real choices in life; to get up and do something about our situation or sit back and moan about it. The choice is yours. Here’s a little hint for you; when you become the doer and achiever, you have no time or desire to be the whiner, complainer or the critic. Don’t be the latter because others that are in control of their life are watching and listening and will never come to you for any future opportunity. 

Take an inventory of all the good at work and at home; it will change your perspective and it will help you see much better. Things are not that bad in life when we finally take control. Be wise, be strong and most of all; be a leader! You hold the key!

On my way to church one Sunday, I heard one of my favorite rock songs on the radio; Stairway to Heaven. I have to say that it was the first time in all my years of going to church that it came on just before I got there. Coincidence? Maybe?

In the song are these two verses; “There’s a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure, Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings.” One thing that I have noticed in my 60 years is that life has many meanings and there are always signs on the wall to read each time you cross a new path. It is up to you to pay attention to those signs and most importantly, adjust your direction when needed. 
I have found over time that it is easy to get caught up in the euphoria of success, the good life and the hollowness of money. Sometimes these good things numb our senses, driving us away from the really important in life. Making your mark is a great thing in life, but you just need to know that everything else has its importance for a good and fulfilling life. 

Life holds true to the saying; How would we really know happiness if we didn’t experience sadness. I guess the point I am trying to make like the song did, is that putting meaning into your life should be your first priority. The signs that you eventually notice point you in that same direction. It’s not always about what we get in life as much as it is what we learn and what we give back to it that brings true meaning to it. 

I’m here to tell you that it’s up to you to recognize that you can be better and more capable of a lot more than you could imagine. The signs are there to maybe stop you of complaining, making excuses and not taking control. Only you can make the changes that you want. Yes, “there are two paths you can go by but in the long run, there’s still time to change the road you’re on.” 

“To be a rock and not to roll” has to be the epitome of hell on earth. You were meant to be more! Remember, “there’s no buuuuyying the Stairrrrway…… to Heaaaven! Make it a great day everyone!! See the signs and act!

Making a difference in your life by changing the way you think. Change your mindset in order to improve your results. If you have been doing the same thing with negative results…Change Your Mindset!

Life is one big opportunity broken up into many smaller opportunities. It is always evolving. You might think that you end somewhere but any motion around you will always keep you evolving. The problem in life is that many people label themselves and they get stuck in this identity. I’m a cabinet maker by trade but I don’t let that label me. I’m so much more to the universe. I’m a husband, brother, father, coach, mentor, friend, etc. I used to be an athlete but now I only pretend. Made you smile, lol. I’m the ultimate opportunist. Life is always evolving in my world and that drives my spirit.

Problems are a big part of this evolution. Problems are the stepping stones to your future. The higher up the ladder you get in life, the bigger the problems. Most people wince at that thought but in time, I found out a secret with this phenomenon. Once the bigger problems came, I stopped worrying about the smaller problems. They became very insignificant in my new world so I don’t let them rent space in my mind because they don’t pay me a cent. See what I mean? Opportunist on my forehead!

Where are you in life right now? Where do you see yourself in the near future? If you have stopped with your last past story, you are not done. You are just in transition before your next experience, trade, love or story. Remember, we are always evolving, and opportunity is everywhere that you choose to open your eyes to. I love this one from napoleon Hill; “Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”
Open up your mind and dump the trash, immediately. Train the mind to think of solutions instead of focusing on the problems. You will be happy when you finally do.

Our 4th Installment of our #FiresideChat series – “Thinking” Thinking about what are doing, your plan to reach your goals and changing your #thinking if what you are doing is not working for you…

We find out as we get older that life seems to come around full circle, over and over again. One of the most important things to remember is that we need to keep beginning and failing, beginning and failing and then we begin all over again, and fail. Each time we hit the cycle, we understand ourselves that much more. We become stronger, smarter, more resilient and readier to take on a new purpose, a purpose that we had never thought possible. Frustration and problems make you want to quit but you hang strong anyways. 

I had a young friend ask me recently: “Wouldn’t it be easier if we only had to do something once and get it?” That one was hard to argue with but eventually convinced her that the knowledge was hidden in the crevices of the cycle. To understand success, you have to marry frustration for a while.

How is it that we get wiser each time around I hear you ask? I can equate it to the saying, “The more we know, the more we know that we don’t know.” The mind grows at each cycle because every time that we start, we start with a new and clearer perspective. The more we keep it going, the more the mind grows and understands. The more you repeat, the more it becomes habit and you don’t have to think about it as much anymore.

What do you think is stopping you from new opportunities or achieving your goals? Take the time to write down all these things that you believe is stopping you and work on them, over and over again till they are gone from your mind. How many times will it take? It will take you as long as it takes to find a new and better you. Remember, you never actually fail, you just need to practice more.

Don’t fret, don’t quit, you will get there in time! Make it a great day everyone! Believe in the cycle and the process will eventually set you free.
