Difference –
I have to admit that my mother made quite a difference in my life as with many others over the years, and I sit here smiling at some of the ways she drove things into my (our) head without me even knowing. It makes me sit here thinking that so many people walk this earth every day and have not found their place or their “Voice” yet. I’m not talking about the voice we use to sing. I’m talking about that soul-searching light inside of us that shines like a light beam on others around us. I had someone ask me a few weeks ago; “How can I possibly make a difference in this life?” Ye hath little faith I remember thinking. You don’t have to perform a miracle like Jesus to make a difference. All you have to do is make that small difference in an elderly life or for that child struggling with who they are. Maybe it could be that family that could use a few meals a week that you could cook from your own kitchen or that run to the store for that lonely neighbor that doesn’t drive anymore. You could go read a book to that struggling child and let them try a hand at a sentence or two. Or maybe you could visit that nursing home once a week and tell some family stories that you hold in your heart. Maybe, you could just visit your parents more because once they are gone, they are gone, believe me! All it takes is small lapses of time to touch another life. You were put on this earth for more than working, eating or sleeping. Dig deep inside and find that voice that is waiting to show the world. It will make all of the difference in your life from that day forward. I know it has for me. Maybe, just maybe you might get a little more out of the experience than you think! Mmmm, there’s a concept! What’s the difference you ask? You!
